BORN IN BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

MADE IN MEXICO CITY, MEXICO

WITNESS THE ALCHEMY

Some things should never be rushed , or mass-produced.

Walk down any supermarket aisle and you'll find shelves lined with salsa. Look a little closer, and you'll find a whole lot of shortcuts. At La Fundidora, we make things differently.

Every jar is hand-crafted in small batches using only fresh, real ingredients. No fillers. No sweeteners. No preservatives. Just bold, authentic flavor.

We work closely with local farmers who share our values, sourcing ethically and supporting the communities behind every ingredient. A portion of every sale goes towards organizations creating opportunities for women and children in the US and Mexico.

HOW IT STARTED

La Fundidora started out of Lorena’s small Brooklyn kitchen. The recipes came from her husband, Vitali, whose homemade salsas became favorites among friends and family.

A jar left at their local butcher shop in Williamsburg sparked the first wholesale order, and the brand grew from there into a line now carried by Whole Foods, Mariano's, Heinen's, Zingerman's, and many other partners across the U.S., Australia, Thailand and beyond.

Today, production is proudly based in Mexico City, where every jar continues to be made with the same commitment to quality and craft that started it all.

MEET THE MAKERS

Lorena founded La Fundidora in 2013 and has led the company ever since. In 2025, her long-time friend and former colleague Sofia joined her as a partner. The two met more than fifteen years earlier as finance analysts in Mexico City.

Their carreers took different paths: Lorena left finance to build La Fundidora from the ground up, while Sofia built her career across high-growth and food-adjacent roles. Along the way, Sofia remained one of La Fundidora's earliest and most loyal fans, tracking down jars at farmers' markets and celebrating every new retail launch. Now they get to continue building a company they love together.

Every jar is their way of sharing a piece of Mexico with the world.

Keeping tradition alive, one small batch at a time.
